It’s never too early to learn about finances! Credit Union Youth Month is a special time dedicated to empowering young members and encouraging them to develop smart financial habits. This month is all about inspiring the next generation to take control of their financial future, learn the value of saving, and understand the benefits of being part of a credit union community. Together, we can help young people build a strong foundation for a prosperous tomorrow!

Enter the “A Sea of Savings” coloring contest to win tickets to Point Defiance Zoo!

Visit your nearest branch to grab a coloring sheet or print one from the link below. Once you've finished your masterpiece, you can either drop off the completed sheet at your local branch or share a photo of it on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #OURCUYouthMonth.

The OURCU Savings Account establishes you as a credit union member.

Anyone living, working, or going to school in Washington State, or an immediate family member of a current member, can join Our Community Credit Union.

Savings Account Details:

  • Primary Share Savings – $25 minimum balance and your membership share in the credit union.

  • Youth Savings – $5 minimum balance. Designed for the next generation of OURCU Members aged 0 – 17.

    Welcome to our Budget’s Buddy Saver League! Our Community Credit Union wants your kids to understand the value of saving! Ask today about Budget's CU Quest scavenger hunt available at a branch near you. This interactive tool is designed to help kids get to know their local credit union branch and teach them some financial basics. Upon completion of the quest, they'll receive a special prize and financial knowledge to last them a lifetime!

Not sure what you might need to open an account?

Here’s a quick checklist of items to help get you started:

  • Valid ID - Primary Acceptable ID includes: State Driver’s License, State Identification Card, US Passport, or Matricula / Consular Card. *OURCU does not accept ID that states, “Not Valid for Identification,” “Valid Without Photo,” or Temporary ID.

    • Secondary Acceptable ID (2 Pieces Required) includes: Other Government Issued Picture ID Examples may include: Visa, Permanent Resident Card, Foreign Passport, Employment Authorization Card, Military Identification, US Passport Card, Squaxin, Skokomish, and Quinault Tribal Picture ID, or Original Birth Certificate.

    • If your identification does not show your current address, please provide us with a document from the following list:

      • Utility Bill

      • Payroll check or paystub

      • Rental Agreement

      • Mortgage Documents

      • Auto Registration

  • A minimum deposit of $25 into a savings account is all it takes to become a member.

  • Authorization to obtain reports from third parties, including credit reporting agencies, in order to verify your eligibility for the accounts and services you request.
