Caller ID Spoofing
Caller ID spoofing scams are on the rise. Fraudsters are posing as financial institutions in order to obtain your personal information including but not limited to your social security number, date of birth, account number, card information, digital banking login credentials, and one-time-passcodes.
Please remember, the credit union will NEVER CALL and ask for your personal information unless you have requested a callback.
In some cases, scammers are also making false websites that look similar to their financial institution. Please be aware of the correct URL when navigating to your financial institutions website especially when logging into Digital Banking. If you feel something looks off or suspicious from your normal login process, please do not provide any personal information and exit the website. OURCU does not require debit or credit card numbers to access your account. Always keep your passwords and one-time-passcodes secret and do not share this information with anyone, especially if you are not positive that the person contacting you is from the credit union. As a reminder, the correct URL for OURCU is www.ourcu.com.
When in doubt, hang up or close a page, and call the CU directly!
